Understanding LEDVIZ
LEDVIZ connects the layout of your LED surfaces with the order of your content. A project describes your surfaces, the media you use and the playback sequence. These five terms will help you get started:
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Project | Your working file for an installation or event. It contains the surface layout and playlist, among other settings. LEDVIZ saves projects as XML files. |
| LED module | A building block of your LED surface. During setup, you enter its width and height in pixels, along with the required number and arrangement. |
| Segment / advertising area | An area to which you assign content. Depending on the installation, an advertising area can contain several LED modules. Existing dialogs sometimes use module and segment terminology together. |
| Sequence | An entry in the playlist. It describes the content assigned to the surfaces and has its own settings, such as duration and repetition. |
| Playlist | The ordered collection of your sequences. A sequence’s activation in the selected preset determines whether it participates in automatic playback. |
For example, your perimeter display consists of several LED modules, grouped into advertising areas. One sequence supplies the content for one part of your show; the next sequence supplies the next arrangement. The project keeps the layout and running order together.
Keep the project and its media together
Section titled “Keep the project and its media together”The project file contains references to your images and videos. Take care when moving or renaming media after adding it. Keep the project and its media in an organized location. LEDVIZ provides folder and ZIP export options for transferring a project. Check the exported project on the destination computer before using it.
Preview and output
Section titled “Preview and output”The live preview helps you check the content and its placement. Treat it as a view of your output: selecting a sequence can also switch the connected output. Use a dedicated test setup for your first attempts.
